We spent most of our time (that Joe was awake) at the Hilton's pools or the Lagoon. Joe enjoyed the Kona pool the most, spending a lot of time piling sand on the large, cement turtles in the kiddie pool. He also laughed hysterically if we passed him under a waterfall and he even spent a little time in a whirpool. John and I took turns playing with him and going down the waterslide.
The Kona pool is very large. At one end it has a sand-filled kiddie pool. If you head towards the other end you pass a net for water games, hundreds of lounge chairs, three whirlpools, a bar, and a rope-bridge before you get to the large waterfalls that crash down into the pool. Past these is the small, connected pool that the slide emptys into. Great fun!
The Kohala pool is very long with a slight current and a waterfall, and has a medium size waterslide. There are probably a hundred lounge chairs and three or four large, curtained sun covers that hold four or five lounge chairs.

The lagoon is saltwater with a small, white-sand beach and dozens of lounge chairs, some umbrellas, a smattering of covered lounges, and even one hammock tied between two coconut trees. Available for rent are paddle boats and bikes, electric lounge boats, kayaks, snorkels and fins, and other water toys. The lagoon is very calm and sheltered, perfect for kids. There are several sea turtles that usually can be seen underwater during the day, and if you walk by the lagoon at night on the side between the stairs and the waterfall you can usually see turtles eating right up next to the banks.
