I have seen no significant changes in flight prices from JFK to HNL, no matter how last minute you want to book. Even spring break week is still inexpensive. Not flying on weekends still seems to be the best way to save money on any trip.

Summary: During the second week of January, when I did searches for a few days or one week in advance I got most inexpensive prices of less than $600 consistently, even for last minute flights. Now, prices have gone up slightly across the board and are around $1000 or more for last minute flights.
