moving to Honolulu-help

Posted by Holly on July 18, 19102 at 00:01:53:

We visited Waikiki in June for the second time. The weather was great- 89 degrees, light wind and morning and afternoon showers. We loved the weather and snorkeling and fell in love with Waikiki. We'd like to move there. How hard is it for mainlanders to get work? Is the weather like this yearround? I know the cost of living is high as we found a one-bedroom condo to be $1000. month. Are there less expensive areas close to the beach? Do people get tired of living on the limited area of the island? What does it cost to ship our SUV? If we chose to use the bus system, any recommendations on how life is without a vehicle there?
Are the temporary job agencies a good way to start to find work? What about living at say Waikiki Beachside Hostel, good idea? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
