Ok, I found Kalapana Shores in the Ready Mapbook of East Hawaii - there's not much left there. It is right below Kaimu, at Kalapana exit off the end of Hwy 137. The land may or may not have been covered in lava. All I found in the map was the area name Kalapana Shores - no streets or anything, so I am not sure what that means.

I have seen the area, the road ends into a large mound of lava to the ocean on one side, and houses and palms on the other side (the ones that were spared when the flow came through.
