kalapanaPosted by jack foley on July 13, 19102 at 16:13:59:
Dear Lisa -- I am planning my first ever trip to Hawaii soon and am seeking information about the Kalapana area. Specifically, my father, who died two years ago, had a house and a plot of land in the area. He sold the house before he died but kept the land. I have never seen it and want to. He spent time on Hawaii during the war and it was his favorite place on earth. However, I am not sure what I will find when I look for his lot. It is in a huge subdivision called Kalapana Shores. I do not know if the subdivision has homes or was effected by the lava flows and is uninhabited. Can you give me some idea before I come over what I might expect when I go to see Kalapana Shores ? Thank you very much. Your website is terrific. -- Jack Foley.
