I take it that they don't have a Marriott timeshare on the Big Island? That's too bad cause the Big Island is my favorite. The truth is that any of the islands is a unique experience. Whichever one you select, buy a travel book for that island. Frommers or one of the authors that only does Hawaii. Then study it and highlite the things you really are interested in. And don't forget to pack it! Kayaking is a great experience but I'm telling ya that it can kill your arms and shoulders. Work out if at all possible before you go. Don't forget swim, dive shoes or flippers.

If you get a condo, take some chips for the kids when you first get there. We took Pringles in those small sealed packs. Anything they like that won't melt like our M&Ms did.

: Hi,
: I'm hoping you can help me. I'm doing research for a family trip next June, 1 week for sure, and hopefully 10 days. There are six of us - 2 adults, 3 teens and a 7 year old. I (Mom) am the only one that's been and that was to Oahu and Maui 20 years ago....
