: : The Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island is incredible - they have two really great pools but no 'real' beach. There is a beach within shuttle distance (anaehoomalu) and another great beach (Hapuna) on the same coast. For a beginner to learn to surf you would probably have to go into Kailua-kona though. The best fishing is on the Big Island too.
