Hi Dave,

Congratulations! There are jobs in Hilo - here's some from the sunday paper

security guard, experience preferred
restaurant assistant manager
sales - fine jewelry
seasonal factory worker
taxi driver
delivery/warehouseman
p/t awuatic plant and orchid nursery worker
waithelp
painter helper
chevron customer service rep
car salesman
p/t store stocker for budweiser

That's about it for last sunday. Honolulu would definitely have more jobs ... but none of Hilo's charm; it's just another big city.

One thing about Hilo - there is minimal public transportation, so if you didn't have a car you would have to live and work and go to school pretty close to each other. A bike is ok but it rains a lot so you'd get wet a lot.

You won't regret living in Hilo as long as you can find a job. I can't be of much help in telling you about the job search - I got my first job within 9 days of starting to look; but I was very lucky as I had experience in something not many people have experience in (dispatching).
