My husband and I are planning a trip to the big island also for Dec 2002 and have found the best prices for airfare,accomodations,and car packages on Unitedvacations.com. They have been much lower than other website travel packages. I'm not sure where you are traveling from, but from St. Louis they offer more air travel times than American Airlines.
