: Hi Darryl-
: Well, para-sailing will cost you $50.00/person for a (short?) 10 minute (or less)sail about 600 ft. above the world. For my money, I'd go up to the Hanohano Room on the top of the Sheraton, have a beer and look down at the sites. But you would definitely enjoy it.
: Seafood? Hmmmmm...there are so many places. The Hau ('HOW') Tree Lanai is a great seafood place on Waikiki Beach overlooking the ocean and at the base of Diamond Head. You remember that big rock I told you about? It's actually in the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, right smack across the street for that park I also spoke about, Kapiolani Park. So, when you're running one morning down there, you can check it out. It's a pretty decent walk from the Sheraton, but in Waikiki, walking is the thing. It's fairly fancy and not cheap, but it's good food and service for the price.
: Some places that are a little more laid back that are terrific (and close by to the Sheraton)and a little cheaper are Dukes Canoe Club, practically right next door to you in the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, Buzz's Steak and Lobster at the other end of Waikiki on Saratoga Ave (check the map)and Chuck's Steakhouse, also in the Outrigger Waikiki. These three have steaks to seafood. Dukes is MY FAVORITE. There's a nice tropical laid back atmosphere, on the beach, everything from sandwichs to seafood dinners. If you enjoy calamari, order it here. If you want a taste of local gathering, come down to Dukes on Sunday's during their sunset happy hour 4-6 with some great local entertainment. Trust me on this one.
: Buzz's and Chuck's are wonderful as well, moderately priced with good steaks and seafood. Buzz's is the only one that's not on the beach. As a matter of fact, Chuck's is right above Dukes. Again, if you want a little class, try the Hau Tree Lani. If you want local atmosphere, great food, please, please go to Dukes. You may see me there on any Sunday afternoon.
: -Aloha
