Greg answered your question down below about running on the beach along with his other great answers - but just to assure yourself, go to the Waikiki Beach Cam he pointed out (http://live.waikikitimes.com/) and click on the last 12 hours view. You can't see the beach very well because of the position of the sun, but you'll see at 6, it is just starting to get light. - That is probably a great time! You'll be one of only a very few, I assure you. I would think the beach starts getting crowded about 9 am.
