Lisa's List of Must-sees on Oahu


While on Oahu you must:

1. Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center . This is the #1 visitor attraction on Oahu, and for good reason. It features multiple villages that highlight hawaiian culture and traditions and immerse visitors in polynesia.

2. Submerge on the Submarine Atlantis . If you don't want to get wet, but still want to see the gorgeous underwater world of Hawaii, take the submarine Atlantis. It offers views and attractions of fish, other sea life, coral, reefs, and blue, blue water that will amaze you.

3. Visit any beach, including the North Shore ! Oahu has over 125 miles of beaches and has some of the largest surf in the world at the North Shore.

4. Hike Diamond Head Crater to see what an extinct volcano crater looks like from the inside and the most breathtaking view of the southern coastline of Oahu. Just take Monsarrat Avenue to the parking lot marked Diamond Head State Monument and the trail will be at the end of that.

5. Visit Sea Life Park, ., to see thousands of marine animals close up. - includes whales, dolphins, penguins, seals, fish, sharks and even the worlds only wholphin (a hybrid of false killer whale and Atlantic bottle-nose dolphin).

6. Experience history at the USS Bowfin submarine museum and park . This is one of only 15 WWII submarines left in existence today. You get to tour the submarine and the museum. You will be amazed at how all those men lived in such cramped quarters ... the bathrooms even have see through doors!

7. Check out the Aloha Tower Marketplace and the world-famous Hilo Hattie store for your dining and shopping needs.
