Oahu is perhaps the most well-known, and definitely the most-visited of all the Hawaiian Islands. Oahu is the island with Honolulu, Waikiki, and the famous North Shore. About one million people live here, and millions more visit every year, so it can be crowded.

The advantages of visiting Oahu are: well-developed roads and infrastructure, many attractions and activities, food and sundries are relatively inexpensive compared to neighbor islands, the popular attractions like Pearl Harbor and Waikiki beach, there are miles of beaches with easy access and you can fly direct easily.

The disadvantages of visiting Oahu are: lots and lots of others doing the same thing as you (tons of traffic and no parking), Honolulu (a large city) can detract from a "tropical" image, it is very commercialized in places.
