There is so much to do on Oahu you could live there for a year and never see it all. Nice beaches that are easy to get to are everywhere! The prices are the lowest here of any island. You can get packages to Oahu easily and usually at the best prices available. Getting a flight in to Honolulu Airport is a breeze. Oahu is considered a hub so the cruise ships stop here first, the planes come here first and most, everything is here.

Camping on Oahu is normally safe and easy to do and there are many choices available. Some of the best and most famous activities in Hawaii are here, like Pearl Harbor, the waterpark, the Bishop museum, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Waikiki Beach, Hanauma Bay, the North Shore, and Sea Life Park. Waikiki Beach is easy to get to and lovely to visit. The waves are perfect, there are multiple vendors of watersports activities and lessons placed every few feet, and chances are your hotel will be really close. There is a discount card available if you want to pre-plan your budget.

The disadvantages of visiting Oahu are: lots and lots of others doing the same thing as you (tons of traffic and no parking), Honolulu (a large city) can detract from a "tropical" image, it is very commercialized in places.
