Seasonal Airline Savings

Seasonal Airline Savings to Hawaii

More Hawaii Money-Saving Articles Here

There can be a huge difference in airline prices based on the time of year or month. Think about it, families will only be able to travel when their children are out of school, so the summertime hosts a large vacation rush. Spring break is when the college students are free to take a break from school and they all want to travel. Almost everybody gets a christmas vacation of a few days, and they'll want to visit their families. The airlines are full and people are willing to pay more - so the prices go up.

The savings are substantial during the low season - you can find hotel prices for half what you would pay in summer and airline prices for half to a third.

Every destination will have its own peak and low seasons, but generally travel to Hawaii fits the following rule:

Low season : November to mid December and January - March
Shoulder (prices between low and peak) : April to May and mid September - October
Peak: June to mid September and mid December to January

Generally, the hotels will also follow these seasons, and if you can travel during the low or shoulder season you can automatically save large sums of money - not to mention having a less crowded vacation. There are exceptions, and you should always check to make sure there are accomodations available at your destination before you commit to flight plans. If there is a large convention or event on a certain island at the same time you want to go, you may find yourself unable to get lodging.
