FF Miles
Frequent Flyer Miles      Frequent Flyer miles are no secret - but if we had the money to be flying all over the place and racking up miles we wouldn't need to save any money on the trip to Hawaii, right? Well - there are other ways to get frequent flyer miles or credits towards discounted flights than by flying. My husband and I are going to the mainland later this year, our tickets are already paid for - and mine was free - but not by any miles we racked up by flying anywhere else. We have a credit card that allows money you charge on it to be converted into points, and those points can be converted into frequent flyer miles on any airline. What we do to get more points, and hence more frequent flyer miles is: we pay our mortgage and my school bills with the credit card, and then write a check for the entire amount each month to the credit card company instead of directly to the mortgage company and the school. That is money we would have spent anyway, and by 'converting' it in this way, we rack up thousands of points every month. This strategy isn't for everyone - obviously you have to be sure you actually pay the bill every month so you aren't just accumulating huge credit card bills, and some credit cards charges a yearly fee for this service, so you need to be aware what you are applying for. Also, a credit card with higher rates and fees may not make these perks worth it for you, especially if you don't pay the balance off in full every month. Some credit cards that provide this service: American Express Membersip Rewards Discover Card Miles Card Priority Club Rewards Citibank AAdvantage Card Have questions about your frequent flyer miles?
