Low Cost Things to do in Hawaii

More Hawaii Money-Saving Articles Here

The best low cost things to do in Hawaii are watersports - easy. Snorkeling is easily the best and most inexpensive of these. If you've never snorkeled before, this is a good place to start. If you have snorkeled before, you probably haven't seen what there is to see in Hawaii. Besides snorkeling there is boogie boarding, surfing, kayaking, and many more. These aren't things you'll want to do just once and move on. If you enjoy it, snorkeling or one of the others could be an every day exciting activity on your vacation. Just watch the sun exposure!

If you are staying at a bed and breakfast or vacation rental, some of the equipment needed for these activities may be included free at the house, like snorkel and fins, or boogie boards.

If you don't have access to free equipment you can rent it for dollars a day on any island. May I suggest Snorkel Bobs. Snorkel Bobs rents full snorkel gear plus inflateable vests and boogie boards, and you can rent on one island and return on another. GREAT DEAL. They even have prescription snorkel masks for those who wear glasses.

Also consider renting kayaks. Anyone with decent arm strength and a little coordination can learn to paddle a kayak quickly. The rental companies will usually strap a kayak to the top of any car.

Again, I believe that unless you are one of those people who are happier when everything is planned, you should leave some time on your trip to do whatever comes up. It's always good to have some sort of a general plan for your vacation and that's where these pages come in - but it is very possible that you will find things you want to do when you arrive that aren't on your list - so leave time for them. Don't worry, you won't find yourself with too much time and nothing to do.

p.s. - by low cost I mean: most of the things in the following pages should cost less than $20 per person. Many will cost much less than that.
