Big Island Discounted Lodging under $80

    Be sure to check all prices before booking, the rates I quote may be based on low season prices or smaller accomodations without air conditioning (is air conditioning needed? probably not if you are right on the ocean or at elevation, but otherwise, you may be too hot). Prices also may not include tax, cleaning fees, or parking. Tax is around 11%, and parking can be around $8 a day if needed.

  • Kona Billfisher Resort
    Kailua-Kona Low rates, full kitchens, and a central location on Alii Drive.

  • Naalii Plantation
    Hilo ~ Old anthurium plantation with a koi pond.

  • Paradise Vacation Rentals
    A rental with a pool and tennis court 20 minutes from Hilo with a very inexpensive price.

  • Hale Ka Olu
    Kohala Coast A good price, great whale watching in the winter.

  • Ka Hale O Honolii
    Honolii ~ Just north of Hilo, with a pool in a private home. Near Honolii Beach, which is best for surfing.

  • Deep Hawaii Rental Cottages
    Hawaiian Paradise Park ~ These cottages are off the beaten vacation path, but still near everything on the east side of the islands. One bedroom cottages available, plus discount rates on guided adventure hikes.

  • Dolphin Bay Hotel
    Hilo ~ Kitchens in all rooms. Small hotel with a European style.

  • Kona Islander Inn
    Kailua-Kona ~ Central location with a pool and right across the street from a small beach - plus incredible rates. It is so close to downtown that it can be noisy, but not as noisy as Waikiki!

  • Wild Ginger Inn
    Hilo ~ Hostel-type inn but they also offer double and single rooms for discounted rates. Adventure hiking tours to the wild nature spots on the Big Island. also available.

  • Hotel Honoka'a Club
    Honokaa ~ On the Hamakua coast. If you are coming to the Big Island to see Waipio Valley, this is a great place to stay.

  • Pomaika'i Lucky Farm Bed and Breakfast
    South Kona ~ Stay on a working Macadamia Nut farm on the Kona side and get all the macadamia nuts you can eat.

  • The Jungle Bungalow - these homes are not available at this time
    Lower Puna ~ Two vacation homes available.
