Travel AuctionsI'm sure you've heard of the success of online auctions such as Ebay, and now that concept has spilled over into travel auctions. Normally the way they work is a travel agency or hotel or airline will sell a package deal that is good anytime between 2 dates ... such as 5 nights at the Keauhou Outrigger between Feb 1, 2001 and Abril 5, 2001. The bidding process begins, and whoever is the top bidder claims their prize and makes their reservations then plans their trip around the prize. It is a rather new process, and I haven't tried it so I can't personally recommend it.
