Outrigger Waikoloa Beach
Located on the coast below Waikoloa, at Anaehoomalu Bay. I've stayed here -- it is a deluxe hotel with two pools, a bar, hammocks on the grounds, restaurants, shops, an excellent ocean view, a close beach, a frequent luau, and a spa. Plus, it's right across the street from the King's shops. A great choice for luxury at a decent price.

Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows
Luxury hotel on the ocean; home of the Senior Skins golf game and great tennis. The hotel has many restaurants and bars, and is situated on a calm beach.
Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel
Located above the Hapuna Beach, one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii, and on a championship golf course. This hotel has incredible views of whales in the winter - I've seen whales watching kayakers not a hundred feet off of the beach in front of this hotel! This is a primo location on the Big Island.
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
Located on Kaunaoa Beach, possibly the prettiest beach in all of Hawaii, with its own golf course.

No authentic beach, but the property features a large saltwater lagoon with a safe and pretty, man-made beach. A very grand and beautiful hotel with a huge pool, and also the home of the dolphin quest program. My favorite hotel on the island. Grounds so big they have several boats and two trams running during the day to ferry people around.
