Pictures of Lava on the Road, July 2002 The lava covering the end of Chain of Craters road, where the turnaround used to be  Lava encroaching the road - will it be covered by tomorrow in this spot?  The park ranger's van, as close as any vehicle dares to go -- I personally would have parked it facing the other way ... ha ha.
