If you've ever used an Entertainment Book in a city or state you'll be happy to know that Hawaii has its own book providing deals on all the islands. It's not much good on Molokai or Lanai, but there are plenty of discounts to go around on the other four islands.

I bought the 2002 book from the The 2008 Entertainment savings Book - click on the previous link and type Honolulu, HI into the search box on the next page and received it within 7 days. I plan to use it a lot this month while my father-in-law stays with us for two weeks.

Here's what's in it:

Frequent Values
You can get most frequent values anywhere, not just in Hawaii, over and over again until the card expires. To get a listing of frequent values in your area, visit the website and click on frequent values on the left.

Fine Dining
There are about 60 fine dining offers, most on Oahu but a few on the Big Island and several on Maui. Most of them are along the lines of "one free dinner entree when a second is purchased" with several of the entrees being worth over $20 (more than half paid for itself if you use it just once). Most of these offers are only good once per restaurant.

Casual Dining
Over 90 restaurants participate in these coupons, again, most on Oahu but with one on Molokai, four on Kauai, 8 on the Big Island, and many on Maui. Examples are up to $10 off a lunch or dinner entree when a second entree is purchased at bar and grills, thai restaurants, cafes, and seafood places.

Informal Dining
Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, 7-11, Wendy's, and more grace this list. Second meals, sandwiches, and drinks free.

National Values
Next is the national values like 15% off Northwest and Continental fares over a certain dollar amount; free upgrades and money off several car rentals; Amtrak fare deals; hundreds of dollars off cruises; theme park discounts; monry off flower rentals; Hollywood Video rental deals; and coupons for purchases at target.com, and Meineke savings.

Hotel and Resort Savings
50% off the rack rates at several hotel chains like Best Western, Days Inn, Ramada, and Howard Johnson. Unfortunately, there aren't many of these in Hawaii, but here you'll get savings at 22 hotels on all the islands - several Aston hotels and others. Apparantly there are some blackout dates and restrictions.

Aloha Airlines
$40 of a round-trip inter-island ticket for certain fare rates.

Attractions/Activities
Several deals around the islands like at the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu, Germaines Luau on Oahu, UFO Parasail on Maui, dolphin and whale watches on the Big Island, and Wailua River Kayak adventure on Kauai. Many of these are only good if another ticket at regular price is bought and other restrictions sometimes apply - like they may not be valid on holidays.

Merchandise and Local Services
Flowers, clothes, haircuts, limousine rentals, video rentals, art prints, and movie tickets savings.

Discounts and coupons that look very interesting to me are:

One complimentary dinner entree at Michaelangelo's (great italian place) in Kailua-Kona when a second dinner entree of equal or greater value is purchased (up to $15).
One complimentary lunch or dinner entree at Jameson's Grill and Bar on Maui (had my wedding lunch at Jameson's) when a second of equal or greater value is purchased (up to $20).
One adult admission to the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu when a second is bought at regular price.
25% off four adult admissions for Germaine's Luau and Paradise Cove Luau on Oahu.
50% off the regular price of a weekly snorkel rental from Boss Frogs Dive and Surf on Maui.
One complimentary afternoon snorkel cruise fare when a second is purchased on the Fair Wind in Keauhou-Kona **** Great boat and snorkel tour!! ***
25% off 4 people's tickets on any Holoholo Charters boat tour on Kauai.
25% off 6 people on a Wailua River Secret Falls Tour on Kauai with Wailua River Kayak Adventures.

One complimentary print when a second print of equal value is purchased from Island Art Gallery in Honolulu.
