First Time In Hawaii

So you are planning a first time trip to Hawaii, huh? If you are feeling a little overwhelmed I would like to help you. I have some tips here for you, and then I will direct you to an ebooklet I have written just for first time visitors.
Tip 1. Pick an island by deciding what you most want to do. If you want to see the volcano or a black sand beach, that’s the Big Island. If you want to see Waikiki, the north shore, or Pearl Harbor, that’s Oahu. If you want to see the Road to Hana or tons and tons of awesome beaches, that’s Maui. If you want to see the Na Pali Coast or Poipu or Waimea Canyon, that’s Kauai.
Tip 2. Oahu is an island of lots of people and lots of traffic – just so you know. None of the other islands have that level of buildup or traffic yet. (but Oahu is still pretty and fun to visit).
Tip 3. If you don’t have anything specific in mind that you want to do, just start looking for some package deals. You can’t go wrong in Hawaii, I promise. Maybe, by taking an available package deal, you could save a thousand dollars or so over what you would spend by buying a piece at a time. You could then spend this money on activities and souvenirs.
I like Expedia and pleasantholidays for packages.
Tip 4. You may not need to rent a car on Oahu, but you probably will need one on all the other islands. The Big Island is really big and it will take 2 to 3 hours to drive from Hilo to Kona or Kona to Hilo.
Tip 5. The weather in Hawaii is fine all year round. The south and west sides of all the islands tend to have drier, hotter weather than the east and north sides. So Waikiki, Kona, Poipu, and Lahaina will generally have less rain than Hilo, Kailua, and Princeville.
I have written an ebook titled First Time Hawaii Vacations the Easy and Fun Way, How to Get to Hawaii, Where to Stay, and What to Do. You can find it and my other Hawaii EGuides here.

Kyle: Take your trip day-by-day. We used the Internet, guide books, and whatever else available to try to plan things out. Once you start researching and planning, you quickly start to feel like there’s just too much to do. We decided on our “must-sees,” and made sure that at some point we were able to accomplish those from First time Hawaii Visitor Q and A
