Hawaii Weather and where to Stay Question

question
i originally went on line trying to find out what the weather is like in december. does this vary by the island? we probably would prefer to stay at a resort type hotel, we are not the volcano types. could you present us some thoughts as to locations. would appreciate anyh input possible or direct us to another website. thanks.

answer
Weather in December is about like the weather the rest of the year, except maybe 5 degrees cooler and maybe rainier, depending on where you are on which island. Winter is usually the rainy season on the windward sides of the islands.

If you stay on the southern or leeward (western) side of any island rain usually isn't an issue, and it will still be in the 80's (farenheit) most days. It usually doesn't get into the 90's even in summer because of our nice ocean breezes. Plus, the ocean water will still average about 72 degrees farenheit.

Have you been thinking about any islands in particular? Resort types usually like Maui and Oahu - think Waikiki or Kaanapali areas. Let me know what islands and what kind of info you still need and I will point you out to some websites.
