Sheraton Keauhou Hotel

The Sheraton Keauhou is located in Kailua-Kona on the far side of Alii Drive - the opposite side from downtown (7 miles). It is withing walking distance of Keauhou Bay, but really nothing else. My brother-in-law got married on the grounds of this hotel several years ago before the Sheraton bought it and fixed it up. They really did a good job - it has all the good things the old hotel had plus this monster pool with waterslides - the only hotel with waterslides right in Kailua town. It's a quality hotel with nice rooms and comfortable beds, but no beach.

This is the hotel that shines the lights in the water at night which attracts the monster manta rays that can be seen from shore.

The Sheraton Keauhou Website is here, and you can also check Travelnow for sold-out dates, and disounted pricing rates.

far side of pool
The pool as seen from the very far side of the kiddie area. This part is sand filled and off to the left is a rock platform with water squirties that the younger kids *love*. Any child between the ages of about 6 months to 5 or 6 years (and especially toddlers around 16 months to 2 years) will just hang out here for hours. I also really liked the hot tub right next to the kiddie pool - us parents can sit in the hot tub and still see our kids.

The other side of the pool - this is the part that is inside the circle of rooms. They really did a nice job with the landscaping and making it look pretty.
