Pu'u O'o

pu'u o'o

Pu'u O'o is the current hotspot at Kilauea volcano. It has been erupting consistently since 1983. These first three pictures were taken from a small plane. One side of the crater has collapsed since these pictures were taken, so now it has a much more lopsided look.

This picture is from the active flow, almost at the ocean. You can't see the crater from here but it is past the ridgeline and to the right.
