Hilo Bay

 This is the view from the King Kamehameha statue at Wailoa State Park - the bay is on the other side of the coconut trees.  Hilo Bay frequently hosts outrigger canoe races. As you can see from the looks of the 'beach' this is not a real hot swimming spot. People kayak, sail, fish, canoe, and sometimes even jetski, but nobody really swims here.  This is Mauna Kea, topped with snow, as seen across the bay. |
