Hmmm, I don't know that there is a latest.  There were sharks seen and the beaches were closed, but reopened after the sharks seemed to have moved on. We stayed in Waikiki for one week at the Resortquest at the Waikiki Banyan.  It was me, my husband, and our two (three months from three) year old child.  

I can definitely recommend the Resortquest.  The location (one-block walk to the beach) and the room (full kitchen, divider between "bedroom" and living room) were top-notch for the price. We are visiting the island of Maui From Feb.9th to 19th. We just figured out (duh...lol) that the Pro Bowl is in Honolulu when we are down there. We have found a package deal that includes a flight, game ticket, and shuttle sevice to and from the airport. The cost is $350. We are wondering if this is a good deal, or are there cheaper ways of island hopping and getting game tickets?
